Lil' Dapper Ones...

I think these pictures need no explanation. Our little men are adorable & dapper gents and here they are all ready for church (at 9 am might I add).

They always start out so sweet. Happy to be there, singing, munching, reading and juicing.

And then we have a steady and swift decline.
It ain't pretty.

How do you do it? How do you keep your kids occupied, somewhat reverent and in or near your seats while keeping your skirt hem down around it's natural resting place?

We are baffled and amazed at all of you.
Send us your wisdom.
Send us the list of toys and other things designed for such outings.
Send us your secrets.
Pretty Please?

How could anything so adorable and handsome as these two cause any sort of trouble?

I feel your pain, Amber! Church is a total circus some weeks. We bring lots of little books, some small dinosaurs, stickers, and some small color wonder coloring books with color wonder markers (learned that real crayons are not such a good idea after Daxton decorated a hymnbook). And, of course, lots of snacks and sippy cups! Even with the best preparation, some weeks I still seriously consider becoming inactive. :-)

Oh..it really is a circus! I have learned in my old age that less is more. Once I stopped packing so much "stuff" it got easier. We always sit in a bench...easier to contain them and teach them they can't run up and down the isles. I stopped bringing toys cause they were so distracting. The magnet books are fun, and I definitely recommend the color wonder books vs. crayons. Also...we wouldn't let them have snacks until after the sacrament...otherwise 2 minutes into the meeting the treats were gone. Now all I bring are smarties and some friend magazines! It's definitely a challenge while they are still so young!! We also tried to teach them that it would be more miserable if they went out into the foyer than if they stayed in the meeting ie:...they had to sit in an empty classroom on our lap!
We also bring along the nursery manual and showed pictures during the sacrament...tried to keep them reverent. They will do better once they're older! I can ALMOST listen to the whole meeting now!!

Still working on it and my oldest is eight....RIDICULOUS!! That's when the ol' squeeze the crap out of the inner thigh or pinching in between the bi and tri come in handy!! :-)
All those ladies in nursery have some good eye candy to munch on tho'..lucky girls!!
