Project Preen...

First, let me say that if you feel so inclined to have flower beds flanking an entire fence line and the whole perimeter of your house - slap yourself now. Second, let me ask if anyone has had any experience with Preen? I have seen this acclaimed miracle product before in our favorite local farming store, IFA. But doesn't it just sound too good to be true? Here is the product description:

Preen Weed Preventer stops weeds from germinating in flower and vegetable gardens, in ground covers and around trees and shrubs. Although Preen will not kill existing weeds, it can be used as a grass weed killing alternative. It will prevent new weeds from sprouting – eliminating the need for difficult and time-consuming hand-weeding. Without weeds, your valuable plants can grow larger and stronger. Your beds will stay neat and weed-free all season long!

So my question is.... is it? Too good to be true that is? Or should I just give it a whirl...
Tell me you're a master gardener and you use it faithfully and you only have to weed, like, once a summer. And if that isn't the case - then lie to me. OK, don't - give me the low down. I'm ready. I think. Off to weed while babes sleep. Sounds SO fun, right? Well it is. So come over. Not that I'm trying to pull a Tom Sawyer on you. Promise. :)

Preen has worked great for us! I would completely recommend it. You have to weed really well before using it, but I think it definitely slowed down the re-growth.
