Of Dixie Dust...

Well, as you know, there's this thing we all love called Spring Break.  At this age it's not really a big deal, except that it is, because the school girl inside me cannot dismiss the notion that we must do something out of the ordinary.  Something that leads to complete joy and carpeing the diem and all.
Well, as you know, there's this place we love called, "Dixie".  Kaelster considers himself the fastest "D" identifier of all the land even though it elicits a, "HEY!  That's my letter!" from Dax Man Every.Single.Time.
These little gents of mine have also learned to watch for the rocks of pink and orange and red and they'll pipe up from the back seat, "I'm seein' pink rocks for you, Mommy!  We're almost at the 'cactus house'!"  Which I adore because there is nothing like sharing some place you love with the little people you love.
And we've toted those little people down to the desert ever since we've had little people to tote; and now, nearly five years later, we've almost entirely retired the life jackets and we've definitely retired the inflatable baby tube and we've graduated to pool mayhem with just arm floaties, sunscreen, snacks in bulk, and little man sunglasses.
It happened so fast but there's no time to be sad... nope, I can feel their happiness and pride.  They've got this pool thing figured out... all the way down to the "pool honeys".  No lie, the little flirt, like his Daddy-o, removed his shades and asked, "Hi Go-uls-- What ya doin?"
Look at the way he walked back to his brothers & me like a boss.  I.DIED.LAUGHING.
And so, sun filled days at the pool, followed by sun-filled days at the park, followed by sun-filled days at the splash pad, followed by sun-filled days back at the pool - made for a magical spring break for me and the boys.  We missed our Daddy-o.  We relished our time with one another.  We didn't venture out to meet a single soul...  We just let the therapeutic rays of the sun and the calming effect of the water do it's thing.  It was perfection to the tune of 86 degrees.
I am Wendy surrounded by the most adorable little lost boys in what I hope is Never Neverland.
And "Dixie Dust", sure did leave us flying high.
XO My little lost boys.
Never ever grow up.
