The Big Par-TAY...

At this house, when you turn five you can host your first "Friends Birthday Party".
And bless his heart, Dax Man wanted to hold a swimming party.
Oh Boy... So we went with it because we're champs and we fall in the category of, "They only get a first friend birthday party once" camp - problematic only because they will turn five in consecutive years... and it's exhausting.  :)  But again, who is gonna say no to this face on his birthday?
Not I...
So off we went to the beloved "Bucket Pool" with a dozen cousins and friends to celebrate our little five-year-old dude.

It should be noted that nearly every picture I have of him is blurry.  He was ON THE MOVE.  Splashing from one friend to another... giving out "birthday hugs" freely and just basically being the champ that our Dax is.

He's so fun to watch.  Happy and content to be there and in the spot light but not one to seek it out.  He grinned in his gold crown while they sang Happy Birthday to him, but then he was just as happy to make the rounds and deliver each guest a cupcake and thank them for coming.  He's kind of a gem.

And man, did we sweat it out.  I mean seriously the humidity level must have been 100 percent at this indoor mecca and I probably lost five pounds of water weight from dutifully making the rounds and watching little five-year-olds who were high on life.  I should do that more often.

MANY thanks to all the adult crowd that came to assist.  We appreciate you!
In summary: I guess we'll keep our little tradition up.  It's so much work, but they were all SO happy -- especially our little man of the hour.

Breaking rules and starting choo-choo trains down the kiddie slides.  'Atta boy, Dax Man.
We love you!  :)
