Ringy-Dingy it In...

I swear I'm gonna wrap up blogging about the holidays before we're too far into the New Year.  Listen, there's a lot that goes on during that time when we wrap ourselves into our little family cocoon!  I love how much ground we cover together.  And I'm almost done.  Scouts honor.

A note to all mamas of littles in the land: If the temps are bitter cold, you MUST invest in a few new tricks.  Magic sand is probably one of the better investments.
Grandpas who console after magic sand is put away are also a rather important piece of the equation.
And we needed some extra snuggles to keep us warm as it was a blustery night complete with single digit temps and ten inches worth of  new snowflakes that piled up overnight.
Have you ever played Head Bandz?  Yeah, but have you ever played it with little chumps?
The goal of the game is to figure out what the object is on your Head band card in a minute or less using only Yes or No questions.
Without fail, this was the series of questions EVERY.SINGLE.TIME:
Am I alive?
(The chorus of adults would answer yes or no)
What am I?
(Uh-Huh)
Do I have four legs?
(Adults answer responsibly - kiddos answer incorrectly for effect)
What am I?
(Yep)
And so forth for at least a dozen more questions... nearly all of which were prompted patiently by Grandma Gail, the saint.
(Sigh)
Oddly enough we lasted for a half dozen rounds or so.  They loved it.  We got a laugh, so it was a New Year's Eve gaming victory.  Of sorts.  :)
And then as the clock struck midnight...
Just kidding.
At the late night hour of 9:30 we lit off Fireworks and welcomed in 2015!
Then I asked for a picture as Daddy-o simultaneously announced it was bed time.
BAM.
We're gonna work on our coordination this year.  :)
2015... We're excited to write your story!

We play headbandz too, and our first question is always "Am I Alive?" and we always feel sad if the answer is no. We can only play it during the day (because at night the kids cheat by looking at themselves reflected in the windows), and away from all other reflective surfaces (fireplace, etc.) because my kids cheat like CRAZY. Looks like a fun night!
