May Day Bae...

This is the first year Dax found his birthday surprise before we had a chance to gift it to him.  I think that is what the theme is right now with Dax.  He's sharp as a tack, nothing gets by him, and he's becoming a total dude with emerging hobbies and talents and preferences that are all his own.
I love watching that evolution take place.
The kayak is perfect for Dax because forever etched in my memory is our first trip to Tibble Fork Res last summer after the sandy beach feature had been added and Dax was suddenly all aboard and paddling like a pro in the middle of the lake.  It was equally thrilling and terrifying but he was cool as a cucumber and manned the vessel like a seasoned vet.
Dax also asked for a watch.  Which he uses to time himself as he rides to school, puts away clean clothes, and races bikes with friends.  He used the alarm feature the other day and woke up two hours before school so he could play his math game online.
We celebrated Dax's big day with presents in the morning and donuts at school for his class.  Followed by a trip to play laser tag after school with his brothers and his Daddy-o.  And then he surprised us and chose Habit Burger for dinner where our growing boy downed a cheeseburger and fries and was ready for more.
Dax is such a good brother and a great friend.  I love watching him interact with his peers because he is such a social pro.  Kind, good at listening and picking up non-verbal cues.  And he is able to find solutions in conflict which will serve him well his whole life through.
I can't believe I'm the mama to two 8-year-olds and I can't believe our Dax-a-million will soon be baptized.   We love him fiercely and we are so grateful he is ours.
More to come on June 2nd of our birthday boy in his REAL birthday suit.  :)
Love you buddy.... Love you more than words can even tell.
Happiest 8th Birthday to YOU!

Happy Birthday to Dax! He looks great in his suit! My Dax loved his first real suit, and wore it like crazy...like pretty much every single week to church. He finally grew out of it a few months ago, and had a hard time letting it go. I can't believe how fast these dudes are growing up!
