Snowy Sundays of September...

Whelp he have already survived the coldest, most blustery game days of the year... but only by a thread.  Last week Mother Nature whooshed a storm our way that was bitter cold and came on the coattails of the world's coldest winds.  Of course, we got to experience every part of it:
First the frigid winds - as we watched Kael and Dax play flag football while Ryan coached.
Then more cold wind as we held soccer practice for all three boys and more flag football games where Ryan and I both got the privilege of coaching.
Then the rain and wind and "frost bite in mere moments" weather that graced us Saturday morning during three soccer games.

After which, we raced home and tried desperately to thaw out.
Sigh.

On Sunday - after more rain - we drove up the canyon to find ourselves surrounded by inches upon inches of marshmallowy snow.  On September, 24th.
Clearly we were all dressed for the occasion.  :)
It got us all excited for winter things and equally happy to celebrate the last remaining warm-ish days of fall before the seasons officially change.
And our first snowman of the season - shown here... in case you, too, need a reminder that Christmas IS LESS THAN three months away!
I'll just leave that here for you.  :)

Ace Face is SIX...

Ace Face turned six years old this week.  He got a new scooter and a new bike because our little lover of life had completely hammered his old ones to the point of no workey...
And that's the thing about our Ace a' Spades.  He goes hard.  He has a vigor for life and a passion for adventure and a silly little personality all his own. We are so happy to ride our little doooood's coat tails through this crazy ride and just watch him shimmy and shake and dazzle the masses while he high steps through it all.
When Ace was born he was our littlest grom by a large margin tipping the scale at just 6lbs 12ounces. But you know what they say about small packages...
This fella's smile is laced with dynamite and his presence lights up a room like the 4th of July.
His brothers and friends and classmates adore him...
As do we.
And we all hope he gets everything he wishes for now and always.
Truly "It SIX citing" to be your mama and daddy-o, Ace.
Love you to the Moon.

My Calendar...

For the record I had every intention of blogging the past few days.  But for a glimpse into our world: This week alone we have five practices and seven games spread out amongst three boys and three sports.  I woke up Monday morning already tired and dreaming of Friday evening.  Which is lame because there are still three soccer games on Saturday morning.  :)
Anyway - I've been a hunters' widow as Ryan was out in the mountaintops listening to the elk bugle and tracking a big one down for Grandpa Hooky.  He took Kael out one weekend and Dax out another weekend and they returned to me with hairs on their chests and a strut in their step.  ;)  I don't know what goes on out there but I'm sure glad their Dad takes so much time growing them.
They are pretty lucky.
Just like their Grandpa.  :)
Boone is not potty training officially but he is somewhat interested and definitely bothered when he does a number is his britches so we're warming up to the idea and it is downright adorable.

We also spend our fair share of time practicing spelling words each week and completing math worksheets and generally doing our best to help those spongey brains soak up ALLLL the things.
Ace Face just wears his "thinking glasses" when he is really feelin' it.
Loving the transition from one season to the next.  Feeling the breeze coming through the window screens and taking the house temperature down a few notches is a refreshing change of pace.
Cheers to fall and not losing our marbles as we fully immerse ourselves into all things little boy.
XO

What's New...

Holy Moly, Hi.
It's been a bit since school started and this Mama is just resurfacing for a deep breath of fresh air after being wholly swallowed by the sea of a new school year.  You know, once that school bell rings, ALL the activities start, homework begins, lunches have to be packed, reading x3 needs to be attended to on the daily, practices, games.... yadda yadda.  All those demands and new routines mean I go a little M.I.A. and even more sad - I didn't pull out the camera once in the past few weeks.

So Whoaaaa there Nelly - Imma gonna pump the breaks right here right now.
Because I'm a grown up and sometimes I have to remember, "I'm the boss of me!"
{Well me and this tiny army of gents}
School is going well.  The boys all like their teachers and have friends in their classes and live for recess and time with their buddies.  I'm so glad they work hard and go and do because school is important and sets the tone for a big chunk of their days.
Boone is still a rock star.  Everything is so exciting and new to him and man, oh man, it's refreshing.  He helps us all remember that life is "Niiiiiiice" and "punny" as he says.  :)
We have lice.
I AM KIDDING
We don't have lice but my head was itchin' somethin' fierce and my mind was consumed by little bugs somersaulting atop my boys' noggins after they HAD to try these on at Walmart.
The things I do for the kids.  :)
RyGar is awesome.  He is so good at balancing work and play.  I envy the ease with which he is able to transition in and out of both modes.  He is "working" with the boys on their football skills since both Kael and Dax will play flag football this season.  He is also teaching the fine art of hammocking.
Fall is coming.
Wait - that seemed supremely lack luster...
Take Two:
It's time to DIAL IT UP, YO!  After all - it's almost FALL!!!!
Kael is high in the mountain tops with his Daddy-o and Grandpa and just LOOK at the gold he found.  I hope the elk are calling all around him and he is munching on a fresh apple from the orchard.
Lucky Dude.
I hereby swear to not let the task of scheduling four kids and two adults and all their extracurriculars overwhelm me.  Because really it's just another day (hallelujah) and:
All the water in the world,
However hard it tried,
Could never sink the smallest ship
Unless it gets inside.
