A Buncha...

We've been doing a buncha stuff... none of it too terribly riveting, but all of it important and necessary just the same... Here is the past week in the cliff notes.

Sleeping and Looking Downright Edible...

Partying like little Super Heros Should in the Company of
Bonified Triplets at Daddy's Office Party.

Sporting a Beginner Black Eye after a Slip in the Tub... and Considering Changing one Little Man's Halloween Costume to Tito Ortiz, the Mini Version.

Becoming Reacquainted with the Play Room after a few mornings of cold, fall weather.

Praying for Help from Above...

Because three kids literally feels like exponentially more than two kids. Why didn't ya'll warn us? :) We are figuring it all out one day at a time... and the good news is... they're all stinkin' adorable and we have some help. Whew!

Happy Halloween from our little "Hallo-Wieners"...
More of that to come...

Success...

As a follow up to my last post... Here is my mighty hunter and his hunted...

It ain't a trophy, but for a two-year-old it might as well have been.
Ryno told me that it looks like a white-tail with it's massive horns and spread.
Ha Ha.

I don't think we'll mount this little guy and hang it in Kael's room (thank goodness) but if the deer grow at the same rate he does, he'll bag a monster buck soon.

And kudos to Ryno who field dressed this guy with the help of an excited toddler. What a champ. Our jerky stock is now plentiful yet again so we'll survive the long winter.
You know where to come if armageddon comes in the near future.

Together... Apart...

I had a productive weekend. One full of laundry and cleaning and "mini-projects" that have been on my to-do list for a while. And also one full of bonding with my newest little guy who knew, I'm sure of it, that his "big little" brothers were M.I.A and he milked it like a sweet little baby should.

Kaelster and the Big Man went deer hunting with Grandpa Hooky. And Big K was ready... all twenty-eight camo shirts and jackets were packed and he started sporting the look well in advance.

I guess you might say that he also worked on "becoming one with the earth" prior to hiking through the woods with Daddy-o. That or he is still not over the thrill of "eating dirt" for the reaction that he gets from his mama.

And of course, when I say he went hunting, it goes without saying that Kaelster didn't spend the entire weekend scouring the mountainside... he spent a good portion of the weekend with Grandma Gail reading books and riding the four-wheeler to the park and feeding the horse, but still; his first official "man trip" with daddy and the boys for the annual hunt and he is two... he'll be a pro by the age of four.

Dax Man split his weekend between Grandma Jan's house and our house (the above "window crayon incident" took place at my house... obviously). All Saturday he was the star of his very own show at Grandma's. I heard through the grapevine that little man went to the park and ran errands and was a little angel the entire time. He arrived on my doorstep minutes before bedtime on Saturday night all bathed and pajama-ed and smiling from ear to ear.

And upon his arrival home, he turned his game up to a new level and hammed it up some more while Grandma and Grandpa gave me the day's rundown. The dimple was ever-present and between summersaults he found a new favorite toy... the vibrating baby chair.

Which left me with my new main squeeze, Acer's, who has doubled in size and is officially flashing some grins and providing me with a healthy dose of the famous, heart melting "milk coma" pose.

We snuggled.
I worked.
He napped.
We ventured out shopping once or twice.
It was awesome.
And easy... one kid in a cart... SIMPLE.

A huge, huge thanks to the Grandmas and Grandpas that entertained the "big littles" and made them each feel like the center of the universe for a couple of days.

And a ginormous thanks to RyGar, who rocks my socks off.

Let's all admit, their ain't nothin' sexier than a good daddy... and RyGar... well, he's the best.

Muchas Grassy-Ass...

Ever spent your Tuesday afternoon vacuuming your lawn?
Well, I can check that little item off of my lifetime bucket list. :)
Consider it done.

Long story short here... Sunday night brought torrential winds in our neck o' the woods and our trusty (and very heavy, might I add) picnic table was whipped up in what must have been a mini-tornado in our back yard and dropped further down the cement slab that I romantically call my patio. Fast forward to shattered glass on the patio, in the grass, in the flower bed... Lovely.

Monday I was asked a mere ninety-eight times by the "Big Littles" to go "Out-seed" and I had to say no all ninety-eight times for fear that glass shards would be ingested, implanted, etc.

So.... Tuesday afternoon I wheeled out the shop-vac while Ace a' Spades and his brothers were napping and I vacuumed the entire patio and the surrounding grass. And I laughed, because... Brace yourself for an adult tongue twister...

There I sat on my As$
Sucking Glass from my Grass.

Say that five times fast.
:)

Post Script Numero Uno... Dax fell off the porch (somehow) and landed in the flower bed mere moments after it had been vacuumed. No injuries were sustained.

Post Script Numero Dos... I was pumping while this happened and when I heard the thump and the silence followed by the wailing of a scared kiddo... I ran out the back door to my little love bearing my boobies for all to see.

Post Script Numero Tres... I recounted this entire story to RyGar and he said, "Don't you think it must be such a trip to be our back yard neighbors?"

Brought to you by the classiest folks in the hood.
:)
Peace Out.

Hee-Haw...

There is a little ole' place here in the valley that caters to kids and the art of fall. Grandma Gail was in town making magic happen at our house and so she and my swista and I took the little men there this past weekend with our birthday girl cousin, Alli, to give them a much needed "big-little" outing and they dug it.
(I am now calling Kaelster and Dax Man the "Big Little Boys" and somehow it fits...)

Anyway, we took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where we gathered the plump squashes like crazy. We rode a pony and a little barrel train pulled by a "Track-TOR" as the boys say. We slid down a hillside on gunnie sacks and the surprising hit of the afternoon.... a virtual play pen of feed corn. They literally frolicked in the little golden nuggets.

And when, pray tell, was the last time you could visit a pumpkin patch in your shorts? That's right, we sported little red cheeks and asked for juice after a couple of hours of sunny fun. I tell you, I prayed for an Indian Summer and it has delivered in a big way.

Up next on our fall docket... costumes, caramel apples and pumpkin carving.
Wish us luck. :)

So This is It...

There are a few things I want to remember about the wonderful-ness that is a newborn... Especially since this week my little Ace will already reach the ripe old age of four weeks. Closer to a month than a newbie and I just barely met him...

Like the way he snuggles into a little ball so cuddly and tiny, and bent into the same little spherical shape that he posed in while he grew inside of me.

Like the way his hair feels like silk and the way those little spiked locks whisp up and out to the sky without any provoking.

Like the way his little mouth comes to a perfect little bow and the way he sucks his lower lip and the way his little sugary sweet open mouth cranes to find warm skin and especially the way his little angelic pucker settles on his sweet little face when he drifts off to sleep.

Like the way my body rocks and sways to some silent and primal tune of mama-hood and he is soothed and warmed and made content time and time again like magic.

Like the little lion cub "Simba" pose he does when I pull his little warm body out of the contours of his car seat... his little legs bent and his arms in fists overhead... melts me, every single time.

Like his cheeks, that are the color of life and are softer than rose petals and even more divine smelling.

Like the way he just surrenders himself to sleep when he is bathed and swaddled and held in the crook of my elbow... like he knows he is home.

Oh I could go on and on... I just love this little man.
I love every moment of being a mama to beautiful baby boys.
And I feel like "this" is it... the place I have always wanted to be.

There Are Hardly Words...

To describe my night Monday night... but you know me... rarely, if ever, does life leave me speechless or shy of words. :)

Kaelster and Dax Man were the lucky recipients of a nasty cold virus this past weekend. They were both doing some serious "rockets" out both nostrils and Big K was coughing, coughing and coughing some more, so after an 11 pm feeding with little Acers, I went to Kael's room to deliver some water and some lovin' on our little hacker.

Cue the gag reflex of my mighty two year old. Out it came all over me, and him and the bulk of this special, cough-induced delivery stuck to my hair with all of it's multi-colored chunks of dinner. Miracle of all miracles I did not puke and neither did RyGar as he tried to assist whilst dry-heaving and chucking towels at the walking freak show that was me and K. Bless his heart.

Little man was upset (understandably) so we both stripped down and ran a hot bath with plenty of bubbles to calm our frazzled little nerves and rinse my once clean locks. Afterwards, we snuggled on the couch and finally, at about 2:30 all was well and Big K was acetaminophen-ed and down for the count.

Cue the rising of little Ace man who after four hours of blissful slumber was ready for mo' milk and I was the proverbial milk cow that he was calling for. Yay for me. Another hour later and Baby Love was down for the count, the clock read 3:30 and fina-freakin'-ly I thought I might catch a few zzz's.

Cue the stirring of little stuffy Dax Man who apparently felt the need to get in on the night-time love-fest that was taking place and I just about lost it but my Knight in Shining Armor, aka, Ryan, arrived to use the big green bulb syringe (aka booger sucker) and rock Little D back to sleep. Have I mentioned how much I heart RyGar?

Any-Who... so many details, so little time, right? But I'll stop this disgusting recount of our night and just say... laundry is crankin', babes are happy little Picassos and mama is recovering.

Slowly, but surely.
These little piggies are helping, I promise.

Furthermore, I'm considering moving to Hawaii asap where the "cold season" is lessoned by the fact that babes can still play outdoors in the phenomenal weather all year long.

I didn't hear any objections, so I'm off to pack.
:)

Graduates...

Someone in this house has graduated to the "Class of 2011 Pudding Cup Club."

I never thought I would say this, but Kaelster is a fairly tidy little eater these days.

But perhaps that is just "comparatively speaking" to this little man...

Behold, Dax, who has obviously not graduated quite yet.

Holy Crap this kid has become a messy little diner. I read somewhere, sometime that it is healthy to experiment with food and its many textures. Consider him healthy as a horse.

And someone else has graduated from the Rookie modeling club and has a head start to becoming profesh.

Here is a little sneak peek of Acer's newborn pics that my Stellar Neighbor/Award Winning Photographer, Summer, shot when Ace was all of four days old.

I love them... and Him. More to come but thanks for the little appetizer, Summer!

Congrats...

Dear Laundry - Congrats on making it to the washer, the dryer and eventually back to your homes within our home. I didn't know if that would ever happen without Grandma Gail around, but alas, a miracle has transpired.

Dear Ace - How have you gained a pound and grown two inches in a mere two weeks? You are super human - I am sure of it. Congrats little man, and have I mentioned how much we adore you? Well, we do.

Dear Swista - Congrats on having girls and recognizing the extreme differences in activity level and decibel readings between boys and girls. I loved getting your text when you took my little duo of action the other day for a couple of hours, and yes, "THEY ARE BUSY!" Ha Ha.

Dear Costco - Good to see you again! Two weeks without you seemed like such a long time and we are all restocked with your gallons of milk for our little chug-meisters. Congrats on the extra large carts. It's obvious that this is the beginning of a very long love affair between the two of us.

Dear Kael - Congrats on being our constant source of entertainment. You're obsessed with putting things "in it" like keys, water, etc. which I shall further explain... Last night after bath time I was putting on your diaper and you said, "Wiener in it"... which made me crack up. And once you were all velcroed into your little underoos you said, "Ba-Bye Wiener".
Love you, little comedian.

Dear Boobs - That's right, I just said that. Congrats on being twice your normal size. I know that is still nothing to brag about, but when you have cleavage without trying to touch your elbows together for the first time in your life - you feel a strange sense of pride in your newfound womanhood. Don't even remind me how significantly and quickly they will disappear from my life. Just let me revel for a moment. Thanks.

Dear Dax - Congrats on releasing the death grip you've had around my thigh since we brought home your new brother. I was beginning to wonder if you would be a constant fixture around my legs. You're taking this whole "not the baby anymore" reality like a champ and we are so proud of you. It ain't easy, I get that, but thanks for finally accepting the fact that our baby is here to stay and that you'll love him more than you know very soon. Sweet little man.

Dear Bloggers - Thanks for writing a blog and giving me a little "social interaction" on those long days of motherhood. I love 'em like crazy, but some days, you feel a little less than stellar. I saw the following on a fellow blogger's bliggity blog and just had to share because I almost started to cry I was laughing so hard. Could be hormones but I'm fairly certain this is damn funny... and I'm also fairly certain that I'll never again be able to work in the words, "Wiener, Boobs and Damn" into one blog post. Record Breaking... I'm sure my Mama is so proud. Sorry, Mom, this is what you get when I'm sleep deprived and punchy. :)

1. When you walked into work this morning and pleasantly greeted your co-worker Jim, was his first reaction to scream “NO! WANT JASON!" followed by an office supply being thrown at you?

2.Has a colleague ever climbed up on your lap while you were using your computer and slammed the keyboard with both fists until the up arrow no longer worked?

3.Do you have to lock yourself in the supply closet or bathroom on a regular basis in order to make phone calls?

4. Did you finish a complete thought at any time during the day?

5. When you went out to lunch with your fellow workers, did you have to pack a diaper/juice/extra outfit for them? Did you have to wipe their faces? Smile an apology and leave an extra tip for the waiter on their behalf?

6. When a co-worker needed you for something, did she sit at her desk with her head tilted back toward the ceiling and repeatedly scream “SEAN! SEEEEANNNN! SEAAAAAAN!” until you came to find him?

7. When you needed a specific colleague, did you search all over for him, only to finally find him giggling in the cabinet under the sink? Did you also find six pairs of your church shoes under there with him?

8. Have you had to come to an associate’s aid because she fell off her desk after trying to climb on top of it using a rolling chair?

9. When you reached for the report a co-worker was handing you, did he snatch them away at the last second and scream “MINE!” while shoving
you backwards?

10. Does your colleague lift up her shirt and pick things out of her belly button every time she comes over to ask a question?

11. While you are using the restroom, do various co-workers come in the stall and ask you to settle a disagreement or open a packet of fruit snacks?

12. During a board meeting when everyone is present, do you notice a smell and then have to check all your colleagues’ pants to locate it? In fact, at ANY point in your day do you have to deal with another person's feces?

Any-Who Congrats ya'll for making it to the mid-week mark
(And yes, I'm including me on this virtual "pat on the back").
Smooches!
